Recently, while traveling alone across the US, I stopped at an abandoned bridge near Richland, WA just as the sun was setting. The area around me was so amazingly beautiful that I grabbed my video camera (Panasonic DVX 100) from my van and began shooting the Columbia River and the landscape around it. Nearly breathless, I watched as the receding summer sun transformed the river, hills and sky around me into a painting of pure movement and color.

I began editing in my hotel room that evening and completed a rough-cut of the film before leaving WA state.

Arriving home (NC) several weeks later, I finished editing the short film and created a soundtrack from audio gathered during my trip. The results were astounding. And all I had done was captured what I had seen for 2 hours from an abandoned bridge and edited it together.

I named this short film "4 Minutes On An Abandoned Bridge". I burned several copies to DVD and I've submitted it to several film festivals so more people can see it. I'll keep you posted. Todd
